About

Otaly's Crypto channel is where blockchain, Web3 and digital-asset events are published: community meetups, developer workshops, hackathons, panels and industry conferences, each posted by the organiser who runs it. Otaly does not organise or endorse them. The UAE calendar peaks in April and May and again from late November into December, and is quiet from June to August.

Community meetups, developer workshops, hackathons, policy and regulation briefings, panels and full industry conferences all belong here. Every event is published by the organiser who runs it, under their own name. Otaly does not organise these events and does not endorse any speaker, project, company or token that appears in them.

The UAE calendar runs in two seasons. April and May are the first busy stretch, anchored by TOKEN2049 at Madinat Jumeirah and by MENA Blockchain Week across Dubai. June to August is genuinely quiet. September restarts with Crypto Expo Dubai at the Dubai World Trade Centre, and late November into December is the densest stretch of the year, with the Global Blockchain Show at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, Blockchain Life at Festival Arena and FDX by GITEX at Expo City Dubai. Otaly is not affiliated with any of these events and does not sell tickets to them; they are named here as landmarks in the regional calendar.

Which regulator applies depends on where an event's speakers and exhibitors are licensed. VARA oversees virtual-asset activity across Dubai's mainland and free zones, with the Dubai International Financial Centre carved out; DIFC firms answer to the DFSA and ADGM firms to the FSRA, and the SCA is the federal regulator. DMCC's Crypto Centre licenses companies rather than regulating them.

Nothing on this page is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, or an offer to buy, sell or hold any virtual asset. Virtual assets may lose their value in part or in full and are subject to extreme volatility at times, and anyone who acquires one can lose all the money or other value they put in, and does not benefit from any form of financial protection.

Good to know

What kinds of events belong in Otaly's Crypto category?
Anything whose subject is blockchain technology, distributed ledgers, smart contracts, cryptography, protocol design, tokenisation, digital-asset policy and regulation, or the wider Web3 developer ecosystem, at any scale from a ten-person study group to a fifteen-thousand-person conference. Token sales, trading promotions and investment pitches are not what this category is for, and events promoting anonymity-enhanced or privacy coins cannot be listed, because marketing them is prohibited in the UAE.
When are the busiest months for crypto events in the UAE?
The regional calendar runs in two seasons. April and May are the first, anchored by TOKEN2049 at Madinat Jumeirah and by MENA Blockchain Week, which spreads sessions across Dubai. Late November into December is the denser of the two, with the Global Blockchain Show at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, Blockchain Life at Festival Arena and FDX by GITEX at Expo City Dubai. September restarts the season with Crypto Expo Dubai at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Otaly is not affiliated with any of these events and does not sell tickets to them; they are named as landmarks in the region's calendar.
Which months are quiet?
June, July and August. The large-format UAE calendar largely stops over the summer and picks up again in September, which leaves the quietest stretch of the year to smaller community events.
Are there crypto events in Abu Dhabi as well as Dubai?
Yes. Dubai carries the larger share, but Abu Dhabi hosts significant digital-asset programming, most of it around the ADNEC Centre and Al Maryah Island, where Abu Dhabi Global Market is based.
Who regulates crypto in the UAE?
Four bodies share the map. VARA regulates virtual-asset activity across Dubai's mainland and free zones, with the Dubai International Financial Centre carved out; DIFC has its own regulator, the DFSA. Abu Dhabi Global Market firms are supervised by the FSRA. The Securities and Commodities Authority is the federal regulator. DMCC's Crypto Centre licenses companies rather than regulating them. If you are organising an event, check which regime applies to your speakers and exhibitors before you publish. This is a summary of who does what, not legal advice.
How do I list a crypto event on Otaly?
Create the event on Otaly and file it under the Crypto category when you publish. Once it is live and has passed review it appears here under your own organiser name, with your own event page and date. There is no minimum size.
Does Otaly organise or endorse the events listed here?
No. Every event is published by the third-party organiser who runs it. Otaly does not organise these events and does not endorse any speaker, project, company or token featured in them. Nothing on this page is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and nothing here is an offer or inducement to buy, sell or hold any virtual asset. Virtual assets may lose their value in part or in full and are subject to extreme volatility at times, and anyone who acquires one can lose all the money or other value they put in, and does not benefit from any form of financial protection.
